striving for positive social change.

ReSpace Projects coordinated the creation, resourcing, management and orderly wind down of the Hive Dalston social project.
A thousand days of Hive

With a start-up cost of £250 and no external funding we ran our demonstration project for almost 1000 days.

ReSpace Projects is run by volunteers.
We do this using an innovative system of reuse and recycling – called “Holistic Urban Regeneration” – to create physical and digital networks and platforms.
We help developers, councils, landowners and community groups re-use their wasted resources and empty buildings effectively to solve their problems.
Our aim is to begin the production of a community-led infrastructure that creates and supports innovative environments to solve social problems – bringing benefits for everyone involved.
We help groups create sustainable models for social good based on the efficient use and reuse of key resources like empty buildings, volunteer time, skills and information. We identify wasted resources and bring these into the infrastructure to enable local communities to have access to them.
In this way ReSpace hopes to reduce the risk, cost and difficulty for charities, social groups and local causes of tackling the problems they face.
